This is not a conspiracy theory…simply a potential alternate.
The coup attempt could be staged. It was poorly organized, with just a part of the army. Some soldiers under interrogation said they were told it was an exercise. President Erodogan flew in to the airport (notwithstanding” enemy” aircrafts were still around) and gave a beautiful speech.
The day after almost 2700 judges (not military) and 3000 soldiers got arrested. And the US gets accused of involvment.
In 1933 the Reichstag in Berlin went in flame and a Dutch communist was found guilty (and decapitated). This gave the opportunity to Hitler to seize power, arrest and torture 25,000 communists and accuse foreign powers.
In 2001 four German historian found the definite truth (before was a conspiracy theory) that the Nazi torched the building to allow Hitler to seize full power.
Not a conspiracy theory, but pretty similar indeed.
