The Russian game: a chilling reminescence

Again Putin is outsmarting its adversaries. Nothing can be done to avert Crimea (and probably other 2 regions of Ukraine) going to Russia. Most likely they will have a “referendum” and fall into Russia.

This is a message to Ukraine, but also Georgia (which already had a close encounter with Russia) , Moldova and other ex USSR nation with pro-Russian separatist region.

And the West does not do anything. Russian military is not a USSR style threat anymore, but still a power to be reckoned with.

So no wind of war, now.

But if it sends you chills along your spine is because somewhere it remind you of something that already  happened in Germany in the early 1930.

1929 Stock Market Crash

1933 Nazism seized power in Germany

1935 Hitler announced rearmament (well last year announced a re modernization of the Russian military)

1936 Hitler seized the “neutral zone” of Rhineland (nobody intervened)

1936 Hitler sent troops to assist (victoriously) Franco Fascist Spain

1938 Hitler seized Austria

1939, March, Czech Republic (as a region, Sudetenland, was home of a substantial German minority – exactly like Crimea or the Georgian regions) was annexed by authority

1939, Hitler requested Polonia to give up the Polish corridor to Prussia (Germany region). England announced that it would intervene to protect Poland. In September 1939 Nazi Germany seized Poland. Two days later Britain and France declared war. World War 2 just started

The similarities are worth a chilling thought. Russia has no where the power of the Nazi Army. But so the Nazi Army did not exist until 1935. In just 4 years it challenged the entire world.

We just miss a non-aggression pact between China and Russia…and then we start running for the hills and pray the Americans again to save us.
